Who am I?
Hello, my name is Valeria, I was born and grew
up in San Francisco de Mostazal (a small town near Rancagua), on October 24th,
2001. I have only one brother, his name is Ivan, he is older than me by 6
years, but the age difference is not notorious, we were always very close and I
consider him my best friend, I always turn to him in any situation, because I
know he will always be there for me.
I come from a family neither too small nor too
big, I live with my mom, my dad, my brother, my grandfather and my dog. I was
lucky to have two moms and two dads, since I grew up with my maternal
grandparents, whom I love with all my heart and I appreciate everything they
have done for me, unfortunately my grandmother passed away in June 2020, I miss
her a lot....
I currently live in Santiago (for the
university), but I travel every weekend to my small town to see my family, I
live in a residence that is called livinnx and has students from all over the
world, I live with my friend carolina (she studies dentistry too), with an
Italian and a Dutch girl, it is very entertaining, and thank God we get along
very well.
I did my primary studies in my small town, in
the school "Nuestra Esperanza", where I met my 4 friends, that today
I consider my sisters, we have literally grown up together.
In March 2020 I was diagnosed with celiac
disease, and I had to change my diet radically, at first it was very difficult
because I loved cakes, bread, pizzas and everything that had gluten, but thanks
to the support of my family and friends everything has become easier.
I must admit that when I left high school my
only option was to study medicine (I didn't want anything else), so I took the
PSU and it didn't go as I expected, so I gave myself a year to study and
prepare myself better for the year ahead. During that year my interest in
dentistry started, I had been watched videos on Youtube of dentists and I liked
them a lot. I told my dentist that I was interested in studying dentistry, he
gave me a talk, telling me about his experience at the university (he also
studied at the University of Chile) and about the career itself, he told me so
many wonderful things that I ended up liking the career. So when it was time to
select the career I chose dentistry at the University of Chile as an option and
ended up staying.
When I'm not studying I like to spend time with
the people I love, like my family, my friends and my dog, below, I will leave
pictures of them so you can meet them:
