WHY DID I CHOOSE MY MAJOR?

When I was little I wanted to be an astronaut, my plan was to work at NASA, so I could go to Area 51 to see the aliens. When I grew up a little more, I started going to school and I remembered that once they made us make a maquette of a house, I liked doing that work so much that from then on I wanted to be an architect. 

Then when I was in third grade, I had to choose an elective, and here I would decide if in the future I would study a career related to mathematics or a career in the health area. Finally, after much thought, I decided to go to a biology elective because I was convinced that I wanted to study medicine. 

In 2019 it was time to take the PSU, there my only goal was to enter to study medicine, but unfortunately I did not reach the score, and I decided to take the PSU again the next year. During that year I started to get interested in odontology, I started to watch videos on youtube of dentists and I liked this career more and more. I told my dentist that I was interested in studying dentistry and he gave me a talk telling me about his experience at the university (he also studied at the University of Chile) and about the career itself, he told me so many wonderful things that I ended up liking the career. That's how when it was time to postulate I chose odontology at the University of Chile as an option and I ended up staying.

My experience at the University has been very good, the first semester being online, it was very boring, but then in the second semester when the presential activities began, I began to know my classmates and to form my group of friends, who are wonderful people. I must admit that the career is very demanding, and you have to study a lot, but I feel that it will be worth it, because every time I realize that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.
